About

The Konica C35 EF3, released in April 1981, is an automatic exposure camera with zone focus capabilities, offering four distance settings. It boasts a built-in flash and is equipped with a high-quality Konica Hexanon 35mm f/2.8 lens, consisting of five elements. With its compact design and user-friendly features, the Konica C35 EF3 quickly gained popularity among Konica enthusiasts.

The camera offers a versatile aperture range from f/2.8 to f/16, allowing for creative control over depth of field and low-light shooting conditions. Additionally, it provides a reliable shutter speed range from 1/60 to 1/500 seconds, ensuring precise and well-exposed images in various lighting situations.

Featuring a CdS-cell, the Konica C35 EF3 employs an automatic exposure system that activates an LED indicator in case of underexposure, assisting photographers in achieving optimal exposure settings. This feature adds convenience and reliability to the shooting experience, particularly in challenging lighting conditions.

It was available in a range of vibrant colors in addition to the classic black model, adding a touch of personal style to the camera. Its popularity was further solidified by the sale of 1.5 million units, leading to the introduction of new versions in 1985. These later editions, including a metallic silver variant, omitted the “Hexanon” branding on the lens but featured improved flash recharge times.

In approximately 1988, an Autodate model of the Konica C35 EF3 was released, known also as the Konica Pop. This version offered the added functionality of automatically imprinting the date on the photographs, catering to the growing demand for date stamping capabilities.
